Enter the Multi-Vers by C. Rochelle ~Not your typical comic book world

Book Review📖

Enter the Multi-Vers by C. Rochelle

Released Jan 18, 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came for the final conclusion of the overarching plot, but stayed for the spicy MMM dom/sub kinks

Knowing that Enter the Multi-Verse is an MMM romance between twin villains and a very villainous alien, I was on edge from beginning to the end reading this THICC book. I had to keep reminding myself throughout that there is a HEA waiting for me and none of the MCs are getting murdered…

“My heart was racing, my d*ck was throbbing, and the object of my obsession was looming over me with murder in his eyes. Murder aimed at me.” ~Gabriel

Thankfully murder is their love language.

It was also glorious when Dre’s Dom-ness kicked in. I wanted to be his. I would probably die during playtime, but I’d be ok with that. I’ll sign a consent form and everything.

“What a naughty boy you’ve been, Theo…” he purred—sliding his hand around Theo’s throat like a loving caress. “Did you really think you could take Gabe away from me?” ~Andre

Spice :🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ (extra pepper for how mind-blowing it is)

The spicy story between Theo and the twins are not only entertaining, but enlightening and educational. Read the mile long trigger warning for more info. C. Rochelle’s take on this superhero x villain trope is just the perfect amount of story, mixed with romance, and that mystery element any comic book series needs. I’m devastated it’s over, however I’ll be looking forward to the 5th book she’s promised as a huge epilogue.

While I think most books work as a standalone just fine, I really recommend this book as part of the series, start with Not All Himbos Wear Capes to get the full picture of the overarching plot line, however should you not care for spoilers in that aspect and just want to jump into the spice, it’s perfectly ok IMO to start with the twins and Theo, then circle back to the beginning.

(ARC Review) The Bastard and the Heir by Eden Finley & Saxon James

    Book Review📖

(ARC)The Bastard and the Heir by Eden Finely & Saxon James

    Release Jan 18, 2024

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A (Fake)half-siblings forbidden love story that you didn’t know you needed.

Wren sees Darcy as the guy who stole everything he could have had, kinda like Neville Bottom and Harry Potter.

“The rational part of my brain knows Darcy has no say in the choices our parents made back then, but that doesn’t stop the irrational part that asks why him and not me.” (Pg 39)

Meanwhile Darcy is struggling to keep his attraction to Wren, his half-sibling, under wraps, but the truth is Darcy is a Ritcherson only in name, not blood.

“All my life, I’ve tried harder. Be the perfect son, the perfect heir, accept all the shit life’s thrown at me, understand my parents are flawed people, but I need to be perfect. Always. No exceptions. Because the consequences of me screwing up are far more severe than anyone else’s.” (Pg 57)

What follows is their journey in self discovery of what they want in life.

I laughed, I cried and my heart twinged, even though I knew a HEA was guaranteed, I didn’t know how it was going to get there even at the third act break-up point. It didn’t seem possible at all. Everything was against them. I mean we got there in the end, but it was a tough hill to climb to get there. I think that’s what I liked most, nothing about this book was typical and I was unable to guess what was going to happen next all the way to the end. It just continued to surprise me. If I could read it again brand new, I would!!

This story works perfectly as a standalone, but I promise you will want to read the story where the two MCs first show up if you haven’t already. You can find Wren as Remy’s cousin in Up in Flames by Eden Finely & Saxon James, and Darcy as the arranged prospect of Émile in The Husband Hoax (Accidental Love Series Book 1) by Saxon James.

I was so lucky to have been gifted an ARC of the book, but that just means I got to read it earlier, not that I wasn’t going to pick up this book on release date and read it right away. Anything by the two authors are an automatic read for me.

(ARC Review) Tattooed Mind by Elamy Pride

    Book Review- ARC

    Tattooed Mind by Elamy Pride

Second book in the series, works as standalone

    Release on December 15, 2023

So so fortunate to have been given an ARC to read, I started it right away.  I didn’t read the first in the series, but it works as a standalone, although now that I’m finished with book 2, I want to go back and read book 1 and definitely read book 3 when it comes out.

This is a new author(s) for me, and I’m so happy to have started with my favorite trope of Sunshine x Grump and this is the sunshiniest sunshine and the grumpiest grump. I love their nicknames for each other, Grumpy Bear and Jellybean.

“His grumpiness speaks to me. He needs sunshine in his life, even if he doesn’t realize it. I want to get to know him to see if I’m right. I think he has pain in his heart, and I want to bring him the joy he needs.”

Pete loses his job at the library on the first day, and ends up getting a job at the tattoo shop. Pete uses this opportunity to flirt and advance his relationship with Gavin, the owner of the tattoo shop and his crush. Can Pete’s sunshine brighten Gavin’s gloom?

There are parts of the book that I especially loved reading about, like mental health and depression representation, and how when Gavin talked about his dark past, he mentioned how back then it wasn’t really something people took that much notice of in the way it is now in the most recent years.

I think it’s so easy for the maybe 30 something and late 20s to say, ok you’re having issues, talk to a therapist, get some help, but those who are older don’t really find it easy to do. So I think having a character find it hard and then being able to accept help, helps other people to realize that maybe they, too, can seek out the support they need. I mean having Pete the sunshine as your boyfriend definitely helps.

The spice in this book is choreographed in a way that I had personality never encountered in books or real life, so due to that I’d say the spice factor is a 5 for originality and fun.

There are many parts of the book that surprised me or made me laugh out loud.

I’m definitely looking forward to reading book three, Tattooed Soul, and finding out more about Carter and Roman.
